Canadian province to amend cosmetic pesticides rules

The government of the Canadian province of British Columbia has proposed changes to rules governing the cosmetic use of pesticides. The revisions to the Integrated Pest Management Regulation (IPMR) would require stricter controls on the sale and use of domestic class pesticides in landscaped areas and simplify requirements for pesticides considered to be safe. Among the changes are an obligation to obtain a pesticide user licence for the application of pesticides in landscaped areas and the notification of residents.
