US EPA mulls bee risk assessments

The US EPA has put forward a quantitative approach for assessing pesticide risks to honey bees (Apis mellifera). While this approach has been used to assess risks to other taxa, such as birds and mammals, the Agency has historically used a qualitative description of potential hazards to bees.
