The global crop protection market is forecast to reach $71,300 million by 2018, according to the US market research company, Transparency Market Research (TMR - Albany, New York). That would represent a compound annual growth rate of 5.4% on the $48,000 million market in 2011. Herbicide sales, which amounted to some $19,900 million in 2011, are expected to see the greatest growth rate at 6.1%, followed by fungicides at 5.6%.
