EU inspectors have generally praised efforts in Morocco to control the export of food of plant origin to the EU. The European Commission's Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) found that official control programmes and self-regulation by the industry generally "provided assurance that food of plant origin exported to the EU complies with EU legal limits for pesticide residues". The Office's mission took place in February this year.
