China's nine-month agchem production up 20%

China's agrochemical production increased by 19.7% to 2.6 million tonnes in the first nine months of this year, according to data from the country's National Bureau of Statistics, as released by the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA). The figures show that nine-month production has already matched that of last year's annual total. China produced 2.6 million tonnes of pesticides in 2011, an increase of 21.4% on the previous year (Agrow No 637, p 25).
