EFFECT OF B AND Mo ON YIELD QUALITY AND NUTRIENT ABSORPTION BY GROUNDNUT

A field experiment was conducted at Instructional Farm, College of Agriculture, JAU, Junagadh to study the effect of four levels of B (B_1 = 0.0, B_2= 2.0, B_3= 4.0 and B_4 = 8.0 kg B ha~(-1)) and three levels of Mo (Mo_1 = 0.0, Mo_2 = 1.0 and Mo_3 =2.0 kg Mo ha~(-1)) on yield, quality and nutrient uptake by groundnut var. GG-20 during kharif 2002 in factorial RBD having four replications. Application of boron @ 2.0 kg ha~(-1) was observed superior over rest of the level in increasing the shelling percentage, nodule dry weight and oil content. However, significantly the highest pod yield (2971 kg ha~(-1)) was registered under application of boron @ 4.0 kg ha~(-1). Boron application @ 4.0 kg ha~(-1) significantly increased the N, P, K and B uptake by pod and N and B uptake by haulm. Application of molybdenum @ 1.0 kg ha~(-1) significantly increased the haulm yield oil content and nodule dry weight. The molybdenum application @ 1.0 kg ha~(-1) increased the N, P and B uptake by haulm and N uptake bypod.
