EU agrochemical prices rise in 2009

Pesticide prices rose by around 8.5 percentage points across the EU in 2009, reveal the latest price index figures from the European Commission's statistical office, Eurostat. The average price index, based on a value of 100 in 2005, was 115.6 in 2009 and 107.1 in 2008. The indices are not directly comparable, as data were available for 22 EU member states in 2009 and 24 states in 2008.
