NORTH AMERICAN MILL ACTIVITY

U.S. pipe and tube mills operated at 36.6% of capacity in August based upon preliminaryshipment data. This is an increase of 0.4 percentage points from the July rate once adjusted forfinal U.S. domestic shipments. At this time last year, the average operating rate was 26.2%.These figures encompass all U.S. mills.
