The election of the UCP party in Alberta has brightened the previously gloomy view ofpipeline prospects in Canada. However, change will be an uphill battle. Most of the pipelineissues are at the Federal level for interprovincial pipelines. Still, having an industry supporter asPremier will hopefully add the appropriate influence to the table in those negotiations.Meanwhile, the Line 3 replacement project is still awaiting permitting decisions in the states andthe Federally-owned Trans-Mountain Expansion decision is expected in the coming months.The Keystone XL is in limbo after a recent US court decision.
