NORTH AMERICAN MILL ACTIVITY

U.S. pipe and tube mills operated at 48.4% of capacity in May based upon preliminaryshipment data. This is an increase of 0.7 percentage points from the April rate once adjusted forfinal U.S. domestic shipments. At this time last year, the average operating rate was 46.4%.These figures encompass all U.S. mills.
