Dow AgroSciences off to good start in first quarter

An early spring in Europe and early seasonal purchases of herbicides contributed to a 26.8% rise in Dow AgroSciences'sales in the first quarter of 2008.Prices and volumes rose,for both the agrochemical and seed businesses.Volumes were up by 16%,with double-digit gains in Europe,Latin America and the Asia/Pacific region.Price rises averaged 11%,with increases in all areas,but particularly strong rises in Europe and Latin America.
