摘要

The two varieties of mung bean NM-1 & PTM-2 were taken & treated with different concentration of city waste water. The different concentration are as (80%, 90% & 100%) to find out the relative mutagenic efficiency.. The physiochemical analysis study shows the presence of heavy metals as Cu, Zn & Pb. These heavy metals are present in toxic amount in city waste water & showed a significant reduction in M-1 parameters studied i.e., seed germination, seedling height, pollen fertility, seed fertility & induction of maximum frequency of chlorophyll & viable mutations in M-2 generation.In M-3 generation various mutants isolated from the M-2 treated progeny. Some mutant plants did not showed a significant reduction in total grain yield & protein content. These mutants are resistant towards the city waste water. Thus showing that the heavy metals present in city waste water induced mutation in the bean which can with stand against the hazardous effect.
