Fine paper producers in China have amplified their price hike efforts this month, citing soaring costs and an improved supply/demand balance. Last Monday, Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings shook up the market with an announcement of hikes of RMB 600/tonne ($91/tonne) for its un-coated fine paper (UFP) products, with immediate effect on new orders. In the following days, other producers of the grade slated increases of RMB 500-600/tonne, effective immediately or from October 1.
