Recycled containerboard prices continue to decline in China as Nine Dragons leads discounts

Major recycled containerboard grades in China have got cheaper again following an earlier erosion last week.On Tuesday,Nine Dragons Paper(Holdings),the country's largest board producer,began to offer discounts of RMB 100-150/tonne($15-23/tonne)for kraft-top liner,testliner and high-strength corrugating medium.It told its clients that the discounts are valid until March 25.Other recycled containerboard producers soon followed in its footsteps and lowered their prices by RMB 50-150/tonne.Last week the grades saw d rops of RM B 100-150/ton ne(No.70,p.1).Also led by Nine Dragons,the dips put an end to a mild rally over the past three months.
