摘要

In this work alcoholic solutions of selected phenols were eluted through cation exchange columns saturated with ions H+, Al3+ or Fe3+ in order to investigate whether they can be separated by absorption on these columns. The compounds which are able to form complexes with such ions were adsorbed, whereas the others were leached. The adsorbed phenols were recovered after extraction from the columns and dissociation of the complexes. In the same experimental procedure was treated an alcoholic solution of phenolic compounds extracted from the epicarp of a minor Mediterranean fruit: red azarole (Crataegus azarolus). The results of the qualitative tests carried out showed that the adsorption on cation exchange resins saturated with metal ions could be a way to separate, from mixtures extracted from plants and food products, groups of phenols with specific structural characteristics, such as anthocyanes, flavonols, o-diphenols, and to obtain useful information for their recognition.
