摘要

The effect of sodium nitrite on the pitting corrosion of four stainless steels in 3.5 percent NaCl solution has been studied. Cyclic anodic potentiodynamics was used to evaluate the pitting corrosion resistance. Increasing the concentration of NaNO_2 in 3.5 percent NaCl solutions decreases the protection potential, raises the pitting potential, and inhibits pitting corrosion of stainless steels.
