Operational problems encountered in the control of boiler feedwater quality

THIS PAPER uses a case study to illustrate some of the operational problems which are encountered in the control of boiler feedwater quality and describes a practical approach to optimize the injection of water-treatment chemicals. Particular emphasis is placed on the application of both physical and chemical methods of boiler-water treatment and the use of oxygen meters to assist chemical analysess in order to optimize water quality.
