Citrus is grown commercially in 53 countries. Major production is contributed by 45 countries i.e. 1212.70 lakh tonne (121.27 million tonne) annually. Out of 121.27 million tonne, sweet orange contributed 56.86%, mandarin-25.72%, lime/lemon-10.86%, grapefruit/pummelo/others-6.56%.India ranks third after China and Brazil in the world citrus production.
