摘要

The seedlings of Pisum sativum were treated with different concentrations of pesticide, endosulfan (175, 350 and 525 mg/l) and grown for 30 days. The plants were observed frequently for degree of injury and visible phytotoxic effects. Chlorosis, necrosis, curling and desiccation was observed in the leaves of pesticide treated plant. In leaves lower concentration of the pesticide increased the activities of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase but at higher pesticide concentration (520mg/l) activities of these enzymes declined. However, the activity of glutathione reductase increased in response to increasing pesticide concentrations. An increase in the level of lipid peroxidation was also observed.
