Antimicrobial Activity and Callus Induction of Cassia auriculata

摘要

The propagation of valuable economic plants through tissue culture is based on the principle of totipotency. Cassia auriculata Lmn (avaram) and belongs to the family Fabaceae. The plant parts mainly used as source of herbal medicine for the treatmentof diseases. A detailed study in relation to the tissue culture and antimicrobial activity of different organs was under taken. The antibacterial activity against Streptococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas spp, Escherchia coli and Aspergillus niger were observed.
