New restrictions on diisocyanates

The restriction No. 74 concerning the diisocyanates with aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons of not defined length, which modifies the annex XVII of the REACH regulation has been recently published. The diisocyanates are subject to a harmonized classification as category 1 respiratory sensitisers and as category 1 skin sensitizers under the CLP Regulation. Diisocyanates are used as basic chemical components in a wide range of sectors and applications, in particular in foams, sealants and coatings, among others, throughout the countries belonging to the Union.
