Two inorganic rheological additives for water-based systems

Troy With two new synthetic hectorites, Lehmann&Voss&Co. extends its range of rheological additives for water-based formulations. Luvogel~R WS1 is a synthetic hectorite clay, which is incorporated by an inorganic sodium phosphate. It can be used as rheological additive in a wide range of water-based formulations such as industrial coatings, wood coatings, household coatings and dispersion paints. This product forms low viscous clear and colorless colloidal dispersions after swelling in water. At 10% concentration these dispersions remain free-flowing liquids. With the addition of electro-lytes, highly thixotropic gels are formed.
