摘要

THE CORROSION behaviour and biofouling of AISI 1015 carbon steel and AISI 304 stainless steel were investigated in Keelung Harbour. AISI 1015 carbon steel showed lower corrosion rates in deeper seawater, and the corrosion rate decreased with increasing immersion time. AISI 304 stainless steel was susceptible to pitting and crevice corrosion due to marine organisms such as barnacle growth and sessile, and crevice corrosion occurred beneath the plastic washer between the specimen and the test rack in seawater. The identification and quantitative analysis of various species of marine organisms are also reported in this study.
