The French Potato Quarantine Station is an official laboratory of the French Ministry of Agriculture. The station reports to the General Food Department and the National Service for Plant Protection. It is a unit of the French National Laboratory for Plant Protection. The Potato Quarantine Station, has three major functions (i.e. potato quarantine, territorial monitoring and elaboration of analysis methods) and one secondary activity (diagnoses made on potato samples). A system of quality control is currently being set up to assess all tasks performed at the laboratory.
