Experiments were carried out to study the response of green gram to the integrated application of Farm Yard Manure (FYM), Biofertilizer, Rhizobiumjaponicum, (BF) and Vermicompost (VC) under pot-culture condition. From the results, it is evident that the seedling growth, biomass production and yield of green gram were promisingly increased in all soil treatments, in general, than control. However, maximum seed germination (98.25%) was recorded in soil treated with VC alone. Soil treatment with FYM either alone or in combination with BF or/and VC increased the seedling growth of green gram at all sampling days with a maximum increase of 52.63cm/pl on 45th day sample in FYM+VC treated soil. VC+BF increased more number of root nodules (18.25/pl), leaflets (17/pl) and fresh biomass (8943mg/pl) in 45th day sample while dry biomass was maximum (2818mg/pl) in 75th day sample. Higher LAI was noted in FYM+BF treated soil on 75th day sample. The SVI was higher in soil treated with FYM+BF+VC on 75th day sample. The STI was higher in soil treated with FYM alone on 45th day sample. Maximum number of buds (14.25), flowers (14.50) and seeds (34) per plant was noted in green gram seedlings grown in soil treated with VC+BF on 75th day sample. The soil treated withFYM, BF and VC either alone or in combination favours more chlorophyll content on 45th day sampling than control as well as early (15th day sampling) and later growth periods (60th day sampling). The synthesis of protein content in green gram leaves waspromoted by all soil treatments during early and later stages of growth, while it was decreased at middle growth period than control.
