摘要

To the Editor, In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the use of naturally occurring substances with antioxidant and/or photoprotective effects to complement solar filters in strategies designed to minimize the adverse effects of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) because of the potential benefits that could be obtained with such ingredients without interfering with vitamin D synthesis in the skin. Oral administration would also ensure homogeneous distribution of the active ingredients throughout the skin and, after prolonged use and even when its effects are moderate, could substantially reduce the undesirable effects of solar radiation.
