A shot in the arm

Faced with the COVID-19 crisis and an oil price crash affecting its biggest industry, the Norwegian government recently agreed temporary tax breaks for the oil and gas sector to spur investment and protect jobs. Measures implemented in June 2020 include temporary changes in taxation to allow planned projects to go ahead, encouraging development of new projects and a 'green restructuring' scheme.
