Bursting with opportunity

By international standards New Zealand is an under-explored oil and gas exploration destination. It is estimated that there are 17 petroleum basins covering 2mn sq km which may contain commercial oil and gas deposits. To date, all production in New Zealand has come from the Taranaki Basin -an area of 330,000 sq km with an extensive track record of successful discoveries.
