Ascramble to build liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities in the country has been transformed from a skirmish among little-known companies to an all-out contest of industry heavyweights.In recent months,Irving Oil,Anadarko,a partnership of Gaz Metropolitain,Enbridge and Gaz de France,and a joint-venture between TransCanada and Petro-Canada have joined the line-up of LNG import projects targeting start-up this decade,many of them chasing customers in the US.There are now nine proposals.
