Hungary:Mol sells gas interests to E.On

GERMANY'S biggest utility.E.On,is buying a majority stake in the gas business of Mol Hungarian Oil & Gas for up to Euro2.1bn(US2.7bn).The acquisition,announced on 5 November,forms part of a larger pattern of restructuring in central and eastern Europe,as the mostly former state-owned monopolies rid themselves of non-core and unprofitable businesses,and Western energy firms expand into the newly liberalised markets.
