Prices stabilise

Oil prices have remained in their recently established ranges,but forthcoming refinery maintenance is likely to dent demand for crude. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated prices fell by over 70￠/bl to just below$60.50/bl in London in the week to 5 March,while Mideast Gulf marker May Dubai was down by 30￠/bl to just under$58/bl.But April WTI rose by about$2.60/bl to almost$50.80/bl.Refining margins strengthened in Europe and weakened in the US Gulf.Prod-uct stocks are falling,signalling rising demand. “Demand is gradually rising,global economic growth seems more robust and the oil price is stabilising,”Saudi oil minister Ali Naimi says.
