naftogaz plans for end of russian gas transit

Ukraine’s state-owned Naftogaz is making plans based on the assumption that there will be no Russian gas transit through Ukraine to Europe from 2020. Russian state-controlled Gazprom’s 10-year transit contract with Naftogaz ex- pires on 31 December, by which time the former aims to have its 55bn m~3/yr Nord Stream 2 and 31.5bn m~3/yr Turkish Stream pipelines on stream - bypassing Ukraine.
