The NCOC consortium developing Kazakhstan’s ofshore 13bn bl Kashagan feld has no plans to change its crude production programme, despite lower oil prices and demand uncertainty. “Kashagan will have a production life of decades. It should be viewed from a long-term perspective rather than in the context of the shorter-term economic climate,” NCOC managing director Richard Howe says. “As of today, we are not stopping work or cutting production.”
