Prices slide as storm threat passes

Global prices dropped back from recent highs as a tropical storm in the US Gulf passed without causing signifcant damage. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated dropped to $75.45/bl, a fall of $1.27/bl in the week to 6 September, despite reaching a nine-week high of $77.76/ bl in the middle of the period. US marker WTI lost $2.48/bl to $67.77/bl.
