Malaysian state-owned Petronas has acquired a 30pc stake in the Rufisque Profond exploration block offshore Senegal from Total, marking its entry into the country. Total will continue to operate the licence with a 60pc share, while Senegal’s state-owned Petrosen has a 10pc stake. Exploratory drilling will start next year, Petronas says.
