Crude exporter Bahrain will receive fnancial support from neighbours Saudi Ara- bia, the UAE and Kuwait, to bolster the small country’s ailing fscal position. Bahrain was hit hard by the oil price decline in 2014-16 as it moved slowly to implement fscal reform. The IMF warned last month that “a credibly large fscal adjustment is a priority” because of Bahrain’s high debts, a persistent and size- able defcit and an absence of bufers.
