Iran hopes to reach key agreements in the coming months on a plan to build a natural-gas export pipeline to Oman. But US sanctions pressure adds new uncer- tainty to the already slow progress of the project. State-owned gas export frm NIGEC’s chief executive, Mehran Amir-Moeini, expects a co-operation framework and tolling agreement to be fnalised by the end of July. The project would be put out to tender only when these two docu- ments are in place, and construction is unlikely to be completed before 2022. The project was agreed in 2013 as part of a deal that envisages Iran supplying 10.3bn m~3/yr to Oman for 15 years, starting from 2015.
