Foreign firms back Adnoc's offshore plans

Foreign companies have welcomed Abu Dhabi state-owned Adnoc's plans to merge its two main offshore subsidiaries and split up one of its largest offshore oil concessions. Adnoc aims to merge its two major offshore operating companies - Adma- Opco and Zadco - by the end of this year. And the firm plans to split Adma- Opco's 700,000 b/d offshore concession into at least two new licences next year. The goal is to realise efficiencies, expand production and to bring in new partners with deep pockets and technological skills.
