Jakarta shakes up Pertamina

Indonesia's state-owned Pertamina will have to juggle ambitious upstream, downstream and midstream targets under new leadership. Jakarta recently dismissed the firm's chief executive, Dwi Soetjipto, and his deputy, Ahmad Bambang, citing a need for stronger direction. Pertamina's head of natural gas and renewables, Yenni Andayani, will serve as chief executive on an interim basis. The company expects to name Soetjipto's permanent replacement by early March. The reshuffle comes as the firm tries to kick-start upstream growth, help solve Indonesia's gas distribution problems and more than double its refining capacity - all with a reduced capital budget.
