ONGC revises up deepwater spending

India’s state-controlled upstream firm ONGC plans to invest $8.8bn to develop deepwater fields off the country’s east coast over the next five years, up from the $6.6bn announced last month. The planned investment is also higher than the $6.2bn announced in March, because it includes spending on infrastructure such as pipelines and floating production and storage.
