The 2018 pecan production season is now complete and harvest is well underway, over, or abandoned. All growers are now wondering how much they will be paid for their hard work and investment in this year's crop. In an effort to stop China's unfair trade practices, President Donald Trump made the market season interestingby placing tariffs on Chinese products, causing China to retaliate with its own tariffs. As a result of this trade war, we do not know the demand for U.S. pecans in China for 2018. At first, we thought they would purchase none, but now, it appears this may change.
