Paper Recovery and Recycling

Based on Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) data, 2009 is likely to see a more back to business scenario for the sector after the rollercoaster ride at the end of 2008 but, importantly, with far less out there to collect. It is likely that 2009 will end up with around 9% less paper and board collected for recycling in comparison to 2008. However, when you consider that the consumption of paper and board products in the UK in 2009 is down by around 10% then the actual recovery rate is likely to have risen.
