Mary B II tragedy: The circumstances and causes of a fatal fishing vessel capsizing in Newport, Oregon, were revealed during U.S. Coast Guard hearings that began on May 13.As questioning of witnesses proceeded, it became apparent that the triple-fatality capsizing wouldn't have happened had the vessel been helmed by the only fisherman on the boat who was familiar with local conditions and capable of assessing the crabbingtrip's risks.
