How Does Your Business Compare? Participate in the Cost of Doing Business Study to Find Out

The Paint and Decorating Retailers Association is launching a new industry benchmarking tool this year called the Cost of Doing Business Study. The study is being administered by the North American Retail Hardware Association as a component of its alliance with the PDRA. Independent retailers are asked to submit their financial data from fiscal year 2018, which is then averaged with other participants' data. The results overview average data points for the industry for typical and high-profit stores, including net profits, gross margin return on investment (GMROI), inventory turns, payroll expenses and other key metrics. The high-profit companies in each segment are those that make up the top 25 percent of net profit before taxes. All financial information submitted for the purposes of the study remains completely confidential.
