SSAB contracts SMS group to modernise hot-dip galvanising line no. 3 in Finland

SSAB has awarded SMS group a contract covering the modernisation of its continuous hot-dip galvanising line No. 3 in Hameenlinna, Finland. The upgrade essentially involves the integration of an inductive booster into the furnace and of a new air knife system with strip stabilisation. The measures will be implemented within a short period of time at the end of 2017. The main objective of the project is to increase the line's efficiency and capacity and enable production of high-quality high-strength automotive grades. The modernisation concept is based on a comprehensive study SMS group prepared for the optimisation of SSAB's hot-dip galvanising lines.
