摘要

As stated in article #2 in this series, "The crystal contents of the massecuites produced in the sugar end of a beet sugar factory largely determine the overall efficiency of the crystallization process". In this article the critical importance of crystal yield to the recovery of sugar from thick juice as well as the overall capacity and efficiency of the sugar end is discussed. Comparative material balances show the extent to which the crystal yield in the white and high raw massecuites produced significantly influence the material balance of the overall crystallization process.
