The effect of intercropping and application of ecofriendly biopesticides (NSKS 5%, B.t (Halt) 1.5% and Nimbecidince 1%) on the population of spider fauna inhabiting pigeonpea cv. Bahar agroecosystem was studied. The three species of spiders i.e. lynxspider (Oxyopus sp.), sac spider (Cluhiona sp.) and orb weaver spider (Araneus sp.) predominantly occurred to predates on larvae of L. boeticus, E. atomosa and G. critica. The intercropping had significant influence (P=0.10) on the population of spider fauna. The pigeonpea + rice intercrop harboured maximum population of spider (0.75 plant~1) than other intercrops and monocrops during both years of experiment. The application of ecofriendly biopesticieds for the management of pod borers had no adverse effect on the population of spider fauna. The minimum population of spider was observed at 228 DAS. Thereafter, increased gradually to reach its peak at 273 DAS.
