Pesticide Residues and Wheat Farmer's Cognition: A China Scenario

China is the largest wheat-producing and consuming country in the world, and pesticide residues that exceed the standard to different extent have a severe impact on wheat quality and consumer health. This research investigated the main factors affecting wheat farmers' perception of pesticide residues in the samples of 464 wheat farmers in 12 counties of six districts in China based on the theory of planned behavior and structural equation model. According to the research, factors of individual characteristics, perceived behavior control, attitude toward the behavior and subjective norm all had significant impact on wheat farmers' perception of pesticide residues. Moreover, significant interactions were observed between these factors.
