Sell-out trends take a dip BUT RAW MATERIAL PRICES ARE TRENDING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

January 2020 was not the greatest month when it came to consumer demand for passenger and light truck tires, based on our research. Comments we heard from tire dealers suggest that demand fell that month versus prior-year levels. The net number of respondents to our inquiries who indicated that they observed an increase in demand on a year-over-year basis was zero. (Compare this to 21.4% of our contacts who reported that they experienced growth in January 2018.)
