摘要

The study was conducted to clone and isolate the glutathione peroxidase 2 (GPX2) gene of pigs using RACE method. Total RNA from the duodenum were used as template, while degenerated primers were designed according to the homology alignment analysis of GPX2 gene of human, rat, mouse, dog and cattle. A 300 bp sequence of GPX2 gene was obtained using RT-PCR. The gene sequence of GPX2 was analysed. Results revealed that an mRNA sequence of 924 bp was successfully cloned and isolated. The sequence contained complete 3' end and higher sequence homology with GPX2 gene of human, mouse, cattle and dog. It is suggested that sequence alignment analysis identifies the cloned gene as Sus scrofa GPX2 gene (NCBI GenBank database, sequence number DQ98982).
